Fact Sheet: SureFire 6P LED

SureFire 6P LED Flashlight

The SureFire 6P LED was introduced in 2008 to provide a higher output, longer-running alternative to the incandescent 6P Original.  Equipped with the P60L LED lamp assembly, the 6P LED was originally rated at 80 lumens output and was upgraded in 2010 to 120 lumens.

The 6P LED followed the same modular design as the 6P Original and maintained compatibility with all parts and accessories.

SureFire 6P Original

The SureFire 6P Original was introduced as the successor to the 6P Classic and brought several refinements to the P-series lights including the addition of a lockout tail cap and anti-roll bezel.  The body was also redesigned with flat surfaces on either side providing space for the product name and brand to be laser etched into the surface.  Initially available only with black or gun metal gray finishes, there have been numerous other variations through the years.

The 6P Original retained the same basic dimensions as the earlier 6P Classic allowing the same parts and accessories to work with either version.

SureFire 9Z CombatLight

The SureFire 9Z CombatLight was introduced as a combat-ready version of the SureFire 9P Classic.  The body was necked down to facilitate shooting with a handgun utilizing the Rogers / Sure-Fire Technique and was designed for quick deployment from the V70 Holster.

The 9Z was equipped with the Z33 Lanyard System as a standard accessory and could use many of the same accessories as the P-series lights.

SureFire 7Z CombatLight

The SureFire 7Z CombatLight is a slightly longer version of the SureFire 6Z designed to operate with the B65 Ni-Cad battery stick or, with the use of an included battery spacer, two lithium primary batteries.

Regardless of battery choice the SureFire 7Z uses the R60 lamp assembly designed for slightly lower output than the P60 but designed to provide extended lamp life.  The 7Z comes equipped with the Z33 Lanyard System as a standard accessory

Fact Sheet: SureFire 9PT Turbo-Head Flashlight

SureFire 9PT Turbo-Head

The SureFire 9PT Turbo-Head flashlight is a modified version of the 9P Classic equipped with a 3 inch diameter reflector/head assembly.  This assembly, identified as the T2, is machined from a solid 3 inch diameter bar of aluminum and is specially designed to provide a focused, long reaching beam.

The 9PT uses the N2 lamp assembly, consisting of the lamp from the P90 mounted into a new assembly, and offers the same output and runtime as the 9P Classic. The difference is that the Turbo-Head focuses the light into a much narrower beam.

The T2 Turbo-Head accessory and N2 lamp assembly were made available for purchase separately as an upgrade for owners of the 9P Classic.

9P Classic

The SureFire 9P Classic, along with its little brother the 6P, was the first of the P-series lights.  Taking advantage of its modular design, the 9P could be easily reconfigured into rechargeable and Turbo-Head versions.

During much of its production life the light was simply referred to as the SureFire 9P.  The terms “Classic” and “Round Body” are used today to distinguish these early versions from the later  models which have hexagonal bezels.
